What we collect when you use this website, why, and how it's handled.
This website is operated by YAMOS Engineering Ltd., registered in Remera, Gasabo, Kigali, Rwanda, together with its sister company GetchSole General Engineering PLC (Ethiopia). This policy explains what information we collect from visitors to this website, why we collect it, and what choices you have. When you submit the quote request form on this site, we collect the details you enter — typically your name, email address, company, project type and message — and any file you choose to attach. That submission is delivered to us through Formspree, a third-party form-processing service, which handles the transmission on our behalf. We use this information only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to correspond about your project. We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
If you reach us by WhatsApp, phone or email instead of the form, that conversation is subject to the privacy practices of those respective platforms as well as this policy.
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information automatically when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you view — for security and performance purposes. This site does not currently use its own cookies to track visitors.
Some pages link to or embed videos hosted on YouTube. If you play one, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy, independent of this site.
This site's code includes integrations for the LinkedIn Insight Tag, Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Google tag (Analytics/Ads), which are standard tools used to understand site traffic and measure the performance of our marketing. As of this update, these are configured with placeholder IDs and are not yet active — they will be switched on in a future update once our marketing accounts are set up, and this policy will be revised at that time to describe exactly what each one collects. Once active, these tags may record information such as pages visited, general location, device type, and — for visitors who arrive from a LinkedIn or Meta ad — that the visit is linked to that ad. You will be able to opt out of LinkedIn and Meta ad targeting through your account settings on those platforms, and of Google Analytics via Google's browser add-on, once the tags are live.
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these, contact us at yamos.engineering@gmail.com and we'll respond promptly. Visitors in Rwanda are protected under Law N°058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy; visitors in the European Union may also have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
We keep quote-request correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry and, where a project proceeds, for the duration of our business relationship and as required for our records.
This website is intended for businesses and professionals sourcing industrial and laboratory equipment. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, once the analytics and advertising tags above are activated. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
